We have one this weekend which plays off much like a cross between a James Bond flick and The Andromeda Strain. “The Satan Bug” from 1965 has it all – mystery, intrigue, secret agents and well-armed henchman. While not the most frightening film, it’s quite well-made, with a few familiar faces like George Maharis, Anne Francis and Richard Basehart.

“The Star Trek Dream” is a historic documentary released in 1975, which holds the distinction of being the first-ever documentary created about the iconic science fiction television series, “Star Trek.” This groundbreaking film was not only created and hosted by the esteemed Bob Wilkins, known for his role as the host of the original Creature Features show, but it also marked a significant milestone in the exploration of the Star Trek phenomenon.
Typically, we don’t make culinary recommendations as to which food our viewers should pair with our show, but this week will be somewhat different: As an appetizer, we would suggest the 9-piece chicken McNuggets. It will be a ghostly weekend as we start your night with “The Ghost of Sierra de Cobre” from 1964. When it comes to supernatural spookiness, this movie really raises the spirits…and the hair on the back of your neck. Starring Martin Landau and Diane Baker, this is quite a well-done film if you’re into “real” ghost movies.
We’ll take in a grisly film from 1973 entitled “A Cold Night’s Death.” This is something similar to the Ice Station Zebra-goes-horror aspect of films like “The Thing.” Only it’s far-less frightening than that movie, doesn’t have Kurt Russell and the special effects aren’t really that special.
It will be another Golden Episode here at Creature Features! That’s where we show a movie and our guest played an important role in that film. For this week we’ll show “The Ghastly Love of Johnny X” from 2012. This star-studded retro-sci-fi flick is pretty neat.
