One of the problems we often face here at Creature Features is the on-demand nature of the internet. In the old days, a potential guest would simply assume you have a proper program and would agree to appear on your show. Nowadays, they can quickly bring up an episode and instantly ascertain what kind of a travesty you present to your viewers each week. Needless to say, the sight of Tangella humiliating yet another guest live on television has discouraged more than a few celebrities from making an appearance. Which seems to have been the case this week.
But guest or no guest, we do have a great film loaded up on the projector: “The Victim” from 1972. Starring Elizabeth Montgomery, Eileen Heckart and George Marhis, this is really a fun film that screams “haunted house” throughout but is actually more of a thriller. Those of you who remember Elizabeth’s exit from “Bewitched” will recall that she did an entire string of horror-related TV movies to shake off her typecast of Samantha. This is one of the better entries of that campaign. And, no. Ms. Montgomery does not don hippie garb in this film and play a psychedelic guitar. We just did that to make you look.
All this while Tangella bursts Handrew’s bubble, next Saturday night at 9PM Pacific at the enclosed link and on-demand at our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels. Don’t miss it!
