If you play piano professionally, your hands are the tools of your trade. But what if you lost your mitts in a gruesome accident and had a random pair sewed onto your stubs by well-meaning surgeons who purchase body parts from unscrupulous sources? Why, you’d end up as a serial killer that could play Chopin’s Etude Opus 10 number 4 in between chopping the life out of his victims. And that basically sums up our feature this week, which is 1962’s “The Hands of a Stranger.”
Joining us to watch this Sonata in Kill-Major will be our old friend, theater owner and memorabilia collector, Derek Zemrak. He’ll pipe in about the movie, show us some cool items from his awesome collection and tell us about a few fun events coming to his Orinda Theater. One of which might just feature an appearance by a few creatures who live in a haunted mansion near Bodega Bay.
