This weekend on Creature Features:

It will be a night of “the birds and the bees” when we broadcast our show from our home in Bodega Bay about some killer bees. But there will be no love and childbearing lessons because we shall instead serve a film from 1976 called “The Savage Bees.” While many of you won’t remember this one, it was one of the first films (that we can ascertain) which covered the rather-new topic at that time of Africanized or “killer” bees. And you can imagine this one put off quite a few Independence Day picnickers simply trying to enjoy the country’s bicentennial. Starring Michael Parks, Paul Hecht and Gretchen Corbett, this a fun film which, unlike most of the movies we show here, takes place primarily outside on sunny days. A bit of a departure from the “dark and stormy night” slop we typically serve.

Joining us, somewhat reluctantly, to watch this buzzingly good film will be our old friend and neighbor, actor Jon Provost. He’s the one that played Timmy on Lassie when he was a kid. He also did a bunch of other cool movies and television appearances, but no one ever wants to talk about that. They just want to know the story about how he was dumb enough to fall into a well.

All this while Handrew takes protective measures against Tangella’s violent nature, this Saturday night at 9PM Pacific Time at the YouTube link above, 10PM on KOFY TV20 and on-demand at our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels. Don’t miss it!
