Typically we associate ants with summertime and picnics. But get enough of these little troublemakers together and you have all the ingredients needed for a good horror film. Join us on Saturday as we watch “Ants!” from 1977. This movie came out the same year as Star Wars did and we can pretty much assure you that the former is in no way better than the latter. But Star Wars had no ants, so at least it had that. It also had Robert Foxworth, Lynda Day George, Myrna Loy, Brian Dennehy and Suzanne Somers. A boast that the much-ballyhooed Star Wars is unable to make.
And in our guest chair for this carnival of Formicidae will be the skilled and daring Mark Colp. You might have seen him on the TV shows “Saw Dogs” or “Carver Kings.” He’s one of those guys who can carve anything with a chainsaw. He’ll show us some of his work, talk about his time on those shows and help us ascertain exactly how bad the night’s film just so happens to be.
All this while Tangella attempts to “William Tell” our poor Handrew, this Saturday night at 9PM Pacific Time on KOFY TV20, the YouTube link above, our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels and on a colonial selection of mandible-laden television stations nationwide. Don’t miss it!
