We actually have a new (to us) movie for you this weekend – 1941’s Topper Returns. A ghostly comedy that is actually quite good and has some brilliant acting. And most importantly, Tangella chose this film for us tonight so you really have no choice but to like it. And joining us to watch this fun film will be Ronald Fields, grandson of W.C. Fields. Ronald is an Emmy Award-winning documentarian and will have some great tales to tell of his late grandfather and of the golden age of cinema. All this and Tangella accessorizes one of her skulls, this Saturday night at 9PM Pacific Time on KOFY TV20, the YouTube link above, our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels and on a refined selection of upstanding television stations nationwide. Don’t miss it!
I am actually going to watch a horror movie this weekend. I just got the restored 1933 version of “Mystery At the Wax Museum” with Lionel Atwill and Fay Wray. Early 2-strip technicolor, too. (Record Creature Features and toggle back & forth between the DVD & the blu ray player.) This film was later remade as the 1953 Vincent Price classic “House of Wax” (a popular KBHK 44 favorite).
Not a fan of the Topper series, plus they are not horror films.
