On July 29th 1977, an impressive little horror film premiered for the world. At least it was supposed to premiere. Unfortunately only 65 days prior, a new film called “Star Wars” was released first and it managed to occupy every screen in every movie theater on what seemed like the entire planet.

Of all the spiders in the world, the tarantula would have to be the teddy bear of arachnid society. It’s sweet and calm and fluffy and affectionate. Of course, not in our upcoming movie. For this week, the creatures we shall feature are the mean versions of our favorite spider – “Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo” from 1977.

The Beast from Haunted Cave from 1959. Produced by Roger Corman’s brother, Gene, this film is somewhat rather different from the typical 50’s monster film.
