We have a fun one for you this weekend – “Insect!” from 1987. It often played with the title “Blue Monkey” but the version we’re rolling has the former title. This a delightful movie about an alien insect creature that wreaks havoc upon unsuspecting hospital staff and their patients. It stars Steve Railsback, who was kind of like the Steven Segal of sci-fi films of the 80’s. A likable guy we don’t see enough of anymore. More interesting, however, is costar Gwyneth Walsh. You might remember her from Star Trek as the bratty Klingon woman B’Tor. It’s nice to see her without the turtle-head for a change.
Joining us to watch this zany film will be the lovely and talented Lovisa Davidsson. She’s a pro-level cosplayer with chameleon-like talents. She’ll delight us all with her costume changes as well as with her insights on the entire comic-con scene.
All this while Tangella vandalizes Livingston’s potato, next Saturday night at 9PM Pacific on YouTube at the enclosed link and on-demand at our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels. Don’t miss it!
What I really like are the 50’s b&w films about various mutated critters -ants, Gilda monsters, grasshoppers, worms, spiders, etc. They would likely be cheap to get, certainly “B” movies. Please try.
