We love disaster films and we suspect that you might as well. And while we aren’t quite yet in the position to acquire some of the Irwin Allen “master of disaster” classics like “Towering Inferno” or “Earthquake”, we did manage to get our hands on something that might be even a little bit better: “Meteor” from 1979 stars Sean Connery, Natalie Wood and some other wonderfully familiar faces. The story revolves around a 5-mile wide boulder hurdling towards the Earth and the usual routine of smart scientists trying to convince stupid politicians that the situation is somewhat serious. This was not a big hit when it came out in 1979, but it’s a really nice film when viewed with today’s eyes.

No guest this weekend. The film is a bit longer than what we typically serve, so we won’t have the time to discuss some starlet’s new film or chat about what she paid for her stylish new shoes. Instead, the residents of the manor will try to give you something to giggle about during the much-needed breaks from this story of impending global disaster.

All this while Tangella joins the Umbrella Academy, next Saturday night at 9PM Pacific on YouTube at the enclosed link and on-demand at our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels. Don’t miss it!

  1. Please add “Outland” (1981) starring Sean Connery, to my wishlist of movies y’all must show.
Money is no object, as I can pitch in 50 bucks.
