This Saturday on Creature Features:

“It’s not nice to fool Mother Nature.” So went the catchy slogan of Chiffon Margarine commercials in the 1970’s. And it’s possible some Australian filmmakers took that pithy quote as inspiration to make a riveting film. This weekend we’ll present “The Long Weekend” from 1978. Starring John Hargreaves and Briony Behets, this tale follows the story of a bickering couple who resolve to spend a weekend on a secluded beach in an effort to patch things up. Instead, they behave cruelly to the wildlife and find themselves on the receiving end of Mother Nature’s revenge. We think you’ll find this to be an entertaining diversion from the typical happy-endings we serve every weekend.

Guest-wise, we had someone really famous who understandably had second thoughts. We’ll explain during the show.

All this while Tangella prepares something sweet for Vincent, next Saturday night at 9PM Pacific at the enclosed link and on-demand at our Roku, AppleTV and FireTV channels. Don’t miss it!

  1. This is a great film! I hear Quentin Tarantino talking it up and got the DVD. It’s a masterful creepy slow burn. Thanks for showing it!

  2. We just stumbled upon your Creature Features page on YouTube and we live your show! During this movie you were asking about the make & model of the vehicle whether it was a Land Rover or Land Cruiser. It’s a Nissan Patrol.

  3. As an artist with a limited understanding of film…it is my opinion that Keeping your presentations in b/w tends to create the horror mood …your colour presentations don’t have the mood the b/w have.
